community herbs

IMPORTANT MESSAGE: This raised bed of community herbs contain a broad range of plants for use in your cooking. It is important that you can correctly identify each herb growing in these beds, and avoid eating any non-edible weeds that may have invaded. If in doubt check with a friend who is knowledgeable on identifying herbs.

A message from Miles, founder of Grow Incredible; “herbs light up even the most ordinary meal, with a few sprigs of parsley added to boiled potatoes, or a little mint added to salad your taste buds will be tingling. What a real difference a few carefully chosen herbs can make to the food you eat, And like most people, when I want to know more about cooking, I turn to Jamie Oliver. This link connects you to Jamie’s website featuring ‘how to use herbs’. Enjoy a nutritious and delicious meal using community herbs.”

Give your community herbs a little tender loving care (TLC) they will be highly productive, and reward you with an abundant new growth.

The 3 golden rules to a good community herb bed:
1. Herbs are like you, they need a drink of water occasionally.
2. They also don’t compete very well to weeds, so pull out any nettles or weeds that don’t belong in the raised beds.
3. Wait for the herbs to start actively growing before picking a few branches or leaves at a time.
